DMCA & Copyright

If something on this site infringes your copyright, tell us and we will look at it properly. This page also covers copyright on the work we build for clients.

Reporting infringement

Email [email protected] with “copyright” in the subject line and include:

  • Identification of the work you say is infringed.
  • The exact URL on our site where the material appears.
  • Your contact details.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the owner or authorised to act for them.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

We acknowledge within one business day and remove or disable material we agree is infringing. We are a small agency — you will get a person, not a form.

Counter-notification

If we removed something of yours and you believe that was wrong, send a counter-notice with the material identified, where it was, your contact details, a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake or misidentification, and your consent to jurisdiction. We will pass it to the original complainant and may restore the material.

Repeat infringement

Accounts that repeatedly infringe are closed. This applies to the client dashboard and the API alike, and it is not a judgement call we enjoy making — we will explain the decision in writing.

Copyright on work we build for you

  • You own the finished work. On full payment, all rights in the deliverables transfer to you — design, code, content and source files.
  • We only use licensed assets. Stock imagery, fonts and icons are properly licensed, and we hand you the licence details at handover so you can prove it.
  • Material you give us stays yours. We use it to deliver your project and nothing else.
  • You warrant what you send us. If you supply content you do not have the rights to, that is your liability and we may have to remove it.
  • We may name you as a client and show the public-facing result as an example, unless you ask us not to. Ask, and we will not.

Our own material

The guides, tool code and site content are ours. You are welcome to quote a guide with attribution and a link. Republishing an article in full, or rebadging the tools as your own product, is not permitted — ask first and we will usually say yes to something reasonable.
