Writing Clarity Analyzer

Readability, sentence length, passive voice and filler — measured as you type, entirely in your browser.

What this is, and is not

This is not a grammar checker and does not pretend to be one. It measures the mechanical things that make writing hard to read — long sentences, passive constructions, filler and syllable density. Those can be counted honestly. Whether your argument is any good, it cannot tell you.

What the two scores mean

Reading ease runs 0–100 and higher is easier. Most good web writing lands between 60 and 75. Below 45 you are asking a lot of the reader. Grade level is the school year needed to follow it comfortably — grade 8 to 10 suits most business writing.

Where it is only approximate

Syllable counting in English is a guess, and passive-voice detection is a heuristic. It will miss some passives and flag a few innocent sentences. Treat the numbers as a direction to move in, not a verdict.
